Baby Café This happens every Tuesday morning from about 10.45 until 12.30. There's no need to book - just come along! You can relax and chat to other people who have young babies and who can share and understand some of the same concerns. It is well documented that the best support a new mother can have is from other new mothers! I will make you a drink and offer you biscuits (sometimes homemade cakes!) and try to help you relax and have a little break. There is a basket of toys for the older babies to play with. There is a small library of helpful books and pamphlets about baby care and early parenting which you are welcome to borrow from. If you have things that you need to chat about I am a good listener and can perhaps make some helpful suggestions or you will probably get some good ideas from other people. It is always useful to talk to people whose babies are a few weeks or months older than yours so that you have some insight into how your baby will develop and what his or her needs might be. And, of course, it is often simply helpful just to get out of your own house and have somewhere else to go to! If you have any questions about Baby Cafe just contact me.
